I am a lover of all creatures except snakes, spiders, wasps and anything else with venom lol I know every dog is different and has its own personality and should be treated not only respectfully, but as part of the family.
I don't have any human children; however, my German Shepherd, Zatsu, is what I refer to a my Dog-son. He is my #1 companion & best buddy. Not, only is he protective but he's also extremely friendly, obedient, & intelligent. I've taught him around 20 different commands & he is ALWAYS more than excited to learn more..Zatsu LOVES going on rides in the car with me while I'm Doordashing because I take him to explore a new park almost every single night.

I'm not sure why but dogs always seem to love me. I've had several interactions over the years where the person would say, "Sorry about my dog, he/she is standoffish, mean, or simply doesn't like new people", only for them to be absolutely flabbergasted to see me petting their dog while it's wagging its tail & treating me like it's known me forever. I truly believe dogs have a phenomenal sense of identifying a human's character & can feel when a person excudes either positive or negative energy. They seem to quickly key in on my positive energy, realize I am not a threat, & they can relax & be comfortable around me.
