Pet Pet Pooray! You Found A Sitter For While Your Away! @ Watertown

My name is Molly; I am a Lead Teaching assistant/ Residential care assistant at a residential school for disabled youth. I am passionate about many aspects of my job, but one perk I am very grateful for is the built-in breaks spread across the school year. These breaks grant me the opportunity to engage in a second passion of mine: traveling.

For me, travel is not only a way to experience a new place but a way to experience new perspectives. To be in a place is to find ways to engage with the***and outs of daily life. To go not only to the museums and tourist spots but also to the places not advertised as "attractions." The local coffee shops where people allow themselves to wake to the world, bustling boulevards where folks commute to and from the different facets of their lives, the spots that stay dark in the daylight but illuminate with life and laughter as people celebrate the survival of another day. This is what it means to me to travel to a new place- to be among not just the physical space but among the community that calls it home.

I have accomplished this in the past by participating in various workaways, a program that allows people to exchange work for housing (some of the ones I've done are aiding with farm work, supporting a sailing ship crew, and engaging in land conservation efforts) and working/staying at hostels (very community heavy environments, even if your solo traveling you'll always have someone to discover with). These experiences have expanded my knowledge extensively about the world. I want to include being a pet sitter in my repertoire of adventures.
Although I do not have any pets currently, I have worked and grown up caring for many fun critters. I have worked on farms helping tend to the land and livestock, worked as a nanny in many homes as well as pet sat for a lot of my family and friends. I have experience with tasks such as walking dogs, cleaning litter boxes/habitats, feeding, bathing and brushing, and playtime, among other duties.
