Hi there, my name is Alexia! I am a full time pet sitter on our farm. I love spending my days keeping pup guests well cared for and thoroughly entertained! I am most knowledgeable and accustom to caring for working, herding, hound and sporting breeds. These breed groups tend to thrive on our farm during stays with the many acres to safely explore together as well as access to a big farm shop for exercise and other activities when the weather does not want to cooperate. My favorite thing about being with pets is learning more about each individual, unique personality. Each dog is different in its own way and I love learning about their different preferences.
I own a two farm dogs. A silver Labrador Retriever and an Australian Shepherd. Both I have owned since they were 9 weeks old. I grew up caring for several high energy dogs of my family’s own, raising them from young puppies to adults just as I did with my two sweet girls. I am knowledgeable
in puppy care and training from personal experience and research. I understand that puppies need a lot of consistency, redirection and positive reinforcement. I would be more than helping to further help with any training you are working on with your own pup(s). This includes potty training.
Additionally both my girls are e-collar trained in a safe and knowledgeable manner. They have excellent recall even without their collars on as I have poured countless hours into their training. I think my relationship with my pups is also a big factor in the success of their training. I did it all myself. Another aspect of my pups care is daily exercise. I take my girls out for daily walks and games of fetch. One of their other favorite activities is playing with new pup pals. I am experienced in the close supervision and monitoring of dog behavior during multiple occasions including meetings and playtime.
As a pet parent myself to an Australian Shepherd and to a Labrador Retriever, I understand what it is like to need to entrust someone else with your pup’s care while needing to be away. I am 100% dedicated to providing a comfortable and safe environment for your fur-baby(s) to stay while you're away! I would love to make my home your pup’s home away from home! My goal is to give your pup a fun, loving and comfortable experience in a home like setting. With years of experience and a love for all types of dogs, my husband and I provide high-level care and attention to each and every pup that comes to stay with us! Whether your dog is old or young, big or small, an energetic ball of energy or a cuddly companion, we welcome them with lots of love and care!

On our farm, here's what you can expect when you choose our home for your dog's stay:

* A cozy and clean home environment.
* A dedicated and experienced family of animal lovers.
* Your pet to be treated like a member of our family and showered with loads of love and attention throughout their stay.
* Myself to be home at least 98% of the time.
* Regular updates with photos and videos of your pup's stay.
* Plenty of daily playtime and exercise tailored to your pets needs, whether outside or in our safely enclosed farm shop.
* Personalized care based on your dog's unique needs with every effort to keep your pet on their regular home schedule.

I completely understand that leaving your pet behind can be tough, which is why I strive to provide a welcoming and inviting atmosphere that feels just like home!

I most enjoy getting to learn the each and every unique personalities with each special need as well as provide the kind of high-quality, personalized care for others the way I would want my own pups to be cared for. It brings me joy to provide comfort to pet owners that their dog is in good hands while also getting to spend my day loving on and caring for their best four-legged pal.

Summary.

I offer in home boarding and daycare. Throughout each and every day, I tailor the care and entertainment activities to best fit each and every dogs needs that comes to stay.
Boarding with me, you get the opposite of a kenneling facility. I strive to create a home away from home experience and tailor every dog’s care here to meet each of their specific unique needs.
We do live on a farm so we tend to get a lot of herding, working, sport and hound breeds out here more than others since they tend to really enjoy all the land to run about on.
Pretty much, tell me about your dog’s normal care routine for feeding, potty breaks, exercise and any special care
instructions and I do my best to keep their routine as home-like as possible. I do provide daily exercise and playtime if the dogs are up for it. Playtime could be anywhere from a treat driven dog that loves treat puzzles and licky mats to a dog that’s obsessed with fetch and keeps bringing me balls or frisbees. I am always up for pup cuddles though if that’s a preference instead of playing.
If we can’t get outside because of weather, there’s also the farm shop to play in. I also use that for playing fetch with dogs that cannot be trusted off lead outside because I don’t have a fenced in yard.
The only dogs allowed off lead outside are the ones that have excellent recall and/or are e-collar trained. With pet parent permission of course. I also have 15 ft and 50 ft long-lines for dogs that need to go out on leashes. Helps with the pullers because usually their issue is they just want to sniff around on walks and short leads don’t let them do that as much.
For crates, I don’t require dogs be crate trained. I can accommodate both crate trained and non-crate trained dogs. I go based on their behavior and my given care instructions as some see it as a safe place and comfort, some need it when they are unsupervised for any period of time (even a 5 minute bathroom break!!) or else they are destructive and others just plain hate a crate. I can work with all of the above. We have a dog proofed room if a dog can’t be left unsupervised without being destructive but isn’t crate trained.
Comfort items that smell of home are encouraged and this could be anything from a favorite toy or set of toys to a dog bed or blanket.
Also, I am home 98% of the time supervising and keeping them entertained anyway so crating is at minimal if at all.
When sharing with me about your dogs, the more detail you can provide, the better prepared I can be to meet all of your dog’s needs.
