My name is Darío Muñoz. I am 51 years old. My husband, our late dog Teo and I moved from Bogota to Geneva 6 years ago. As a family of 3, we moved quite a bit because of our respective jobs. We live in the Saint Jean/Charmilles area in a two-bedroom apartment, close to several parks, the Saint Jean pedestrian area, the river Rhône, and beautiful walks in the woods!

I left my job in the beauty industry to follow my partner Matthieu who works in the humanitarian sector in Geneva. Since then, I have re-trained to become a Spanish teacher and I teach a few hours a week - mainly online. This gives me total flexibility and freedom to be with and look after pets.

Having had dogs for years, my partner and I share that special love of / connection with dogs as we know how important they are to our lives. Teo, our beloved chocolate labrador passed last July at the age of 15.

I am offering my services on this platform motivated first and foremost by the love of dogs and the pleasure I get taking care of them and accompanying them based on their personality and needs. Also, I have some spare time that I’d like to put to good use. I am someone who generally loves helping neighbours and socialize. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a happy dog!

I was the proud dad of a male labrador named Teo for 15 years. I took Teo to dog behaviour training when he was a puppy and learned to understand/read his behaviour while applying effective methods (e.g., treats, praise, affection).

I also know how important it is to not only get along with the dog but also with people in the surrounding to communicate effectively and create a loving environment. It is important for instance to educate people on the street who want to approach your dog on ways to do so.

I also know how important pet safety is - having experienced medical emergencies when Teo was still with us. Reacting calmly/swiftly and having a trusted vet contact details as well as 24/7 vet services at hand is key.

Since Teo passed, friends regularly leave their dogs with me when they go away on weekends. Having been in that position of also leaving Teo for some days with sitters, I know how daunting it can be for dog owners/parents to meet a new pet sitter and how key trust and empathy are.

What motivates me to look after dogs is first and foremost the deep love that I have for dogs. I am offering a loving, safe, and trusting environment that our dog visitors can call home while their owners are away. Since I only work a few hours a week from home, dogs will always be accompanied, and we will spend plenty of time enjoying the outdoors. Having had dogs in the past, I will make sure I strictly follow the instructions/guidance provided by the owners and adapt the services/caring to the needs of each individual dog and the parents.
I love teaching Spanish to foreigners because of the human connection I create with my students. Seeing them grow and learn gives me a lot of personal satisfaction. In addition, I also very much enjoy exploring and adjusting my classes to the specific needs of students.
