Heya! I'm Anastasia, though my friends often *** Nastya! ️ I am from Germany, and I recently graduated from Uni in the Netherlands with a BSc in Public Health. During my studies, I also lived in New Zealand and met my dear friend, who inspired me to start housesitting! Since then, I've been travelling across Europe attending concerts, and immersing myself in the vibrant energy of new cities!
My passion for travel is verrry big, and I'm eagerly planning more travels before I begin my Masters studies in Sweden at the end of 2024. When I'm not traveling, you'll often find me embracing an organized and healthy lifestyle. I enjoy activities like working out, meditation, breathwork, and experimenting with cooking delicious meals.
As a bit of a homebody, I spend quality time indoors, catching up with new Netflix shows, trying our new online courses, and, of course, showering pets with extra cuddles and attention. However, when I do venture out, it's usually to catch up with a friend over coffee and indulge in some good gossip ️
My friend from NZ played a significant role in inspiring my journey into housesitting, particularly when it involves caring for animals. The idea of combining travel with the opportunity to spend time with animals immediately resonated with me. Recently, we housesat a UK cabin for three weeks with two sweet labs together, so my first experience with this system was amazing!
Dogs have held a special place in my heart since my childhood, and I've always been drawn to their loyal companionship and affection. In fact, I've often been THAT friend who visits solely to spend time with their dog... :). My dog Luna has taught me the importance of providing undivided attention and care for dogs, and I am pretty good at analysing dog's behaviours and understanding their needs with patience and empathy (with some extra cuddles too).
Each moment spent with animals is cherished, and I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me by pet owners. I know how it feels when you leave for a holiday and have to leave your pet behind, so I understand the importance of safety and love in my care. Sadly, I have personally experienced inadequate care with Luna when I was travelling, which left her with increased separation anxiety and trauma. This reinforced my dedication to providing only the best care for every pet. However, I'm also capable of setting firm boundaries when necessary, ensuring a safe and enriching experience for all!

In the past few years, I've gained experience caring for various animals (check out the other section in my profile for detailed descriptions ️). Plants are important; seeing them die breaks my heart, so your green friends will be in good hands. I take pride in my organisational skills and attention to cleanliness, ensuring your home remains well-maintained. If you'd like, I can also make sure to clean your dog's paws after each walk (which I am used to with my pup). I always make sure to let pups sniff everything on walks and to enrich them as much as possible at home.
I also have experience caring for cats, but I can only do so for short periods due to allergies. As I prefer not to rely on medication for extended periods, I prioritize shorter interactions with cats to ensure both their well-being and my own comfort :)
