Hello! My name is Surabhi. I've always been drawn to animals, and I find a deep sense of connection with them. I've personally experienced the joy of having pets, and I understand the importance of providing them with attentive and personalized care. I've been pet sitting for over six months now, and each experience reinforces my love for this work. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet's unique quirks and building a trusting relationship with them. It's truly a privilege to be a part of their lives, even for a short time. One of my favorite memories is when a shy cat, after a few days of gentle interaction, finally came to me for cuddles. It was such a special moment. I understand that being away from their owners can be stressful for pets, so I prioritize creating a calm and reassuring atmosphere.
Back in India, I had a beagle, two cats, three kittens, and a bunny. Each one had their own distinct personality and needs. I learned how to cater to the playful energy of kittens, the gentle nature of my adult cats, and the delicate care required for a bunny and the attention and care needs for a beagle. This hands-on experience taught me a lot about different animal behaviors and how to provide individualized care. I miss them dearly since moving to Canada, and this is why I love to share my love and care with other pets. In my pet-sitting work, I've cared for beagles, labradoodles, golden doodles, French bulldogs, mixed breed Shepherds, and various cat breeds. This has given me a broad understanding of different temperaments, exercise needs, and dietary requirements. I've also had the opportunity to care for pets with special needs, including administering oral medications and assisting with physical ailments. I have also worked with puppies, helping with training reinforcement.
For example, I'm very comfortable administering oral medications to cats and dogs, and I understand the importance of following specific instructions. I know that labradoodles, for instance, often require a lot of exercise, while French bulldogs may need extra attention to their breathing and temperature regulation. My volunteer work at the local humane society has further enhanced my skills in cat socialization and dog walking, giving me even more experience with a wide range of animal personalities.
