we had cats when i was younger. after that for long time i had dog allergy also, but mostly cats. hopefully with years allergy went slighter and slighter and by the age of 29 i decided having a dog. i wanted this responsibility and a companion and friend as well. The thing about dogs they love human’s company, they are friends, are smart and engaged in your mood. you are spending more time outside, can be social with them.
she is 11yo basenji. grumpy and sweet.
i adopted her 1,5 years ago /previous owner got sick and died after 2 months/. she was a bit overweight which i fixed, not trained /knows only ‘come’ and ‘sit’ and traumatized with being left alone. after two months she recognized me as leader and friend, got used to new home and everything was fine.
i always pay attention to the way she is outside. what she smells , looks to, very careful with other dogs especially smaller ones. don’t pull the leash to make her goes faster, wait and dive freedom. protective but fair.
Love to set the communication with the dog, to know it’s character and rhythm
